Christie Whitman: GOP Really Sucks

Not terribly surprising since she’s been heading in this direction for a while. But in discussing why she wasn’t interested in being New Jersey’s interim senate appointment, former New Jersey Gov. Christie Whitman basically said no one likes this current GOP.

On why no other viable Republicans seem to want to run, Whitman said, “A lot of them…are saying, ‘this Republican party isn’t really the one that I really believe in, and how well would I do in Washington with a leadership [that’s] looking for, again and again, more party loyalty than necessarily policy changes?’ And so people have said, ‘I’ve got other ways that I can contribute.'”
