Don’t miss Sahil Kapur’s excellent piece this morning about how Immigration Reform could actually still end up passing. But I can’t help noting, look how far we’ve come. This was supposed to be a total done deal. Something was after whatever amount of bleating and hassle had to happen because Democrats wanted it and Republicans desperately needed it. Good Lord, Everyone Hates McConnell

I’m truly stunned by this. Jesse Benton, Mitch McConnell’s campaign manager, says ” I’m sorta holding my nose for two years cause what we’re doing here is gonna be a big benefit to Rand in ’16.”

Benton’s a Paul loyalist. McConnell hired him to defuse/curry favor on that front. So it’s not terribly surprising that he thinks that. Saying it is another thing entirely.
