It must not look good for Justice Prosser up in Wisconsin. They’re already carting out John Fund to bang the “vote fraud” gong.

It’s as simple as that. We need your help. Each year we do our annual reader survey. And it’s really important that we get as many responses as possible. It’s simple: TPM runs on paid advertising. That’s what pays the salaries of our staff of 21 people. That keeps the servers humming. To be able to sell advertising we need information about just who reads TPM. We’re not collecting any information about individuals. This is all aggregate information. Your privacy is assured.
We’ve already had a great response so far today with lots of readers filling out our survey. But we need a lot more. And we only have till tomorrow morning to get them.
Can you spare five minutes to keep TPM going strong? Click here to take the survey.
We truly appreciate it.
The late evening negotiating session at the White House among President Obama, Speaker Boehner and Majority Leader Reid just broke up with no deal yet.

Harry Reid just said on the Senate floor that he’s less optimistic now than when he left the White House meeting last with the President and Speaker Boehner. The White House just announced Reid and Boehner will return for another session at 1 p.m. ET.

Yesterday we received a package from former Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham (R-CA), partly in response to a letter from TPM reporter Ryan Reilly. It included a letter answering various of Ryan’s questions along with a new testimonial entitled “The Untold Story of Duke Cunningham”, which he also sent to other press organizations. Here’s our report. You’ll want to read it.
Harry Reid tells reporters on Capitol Hill: I’m beginning to doubt that Boehner wants to avoid a government shutdown.
Was just listening to commentary on one of the cable channels about who gets furloughed in a government shutdown, who has to show up for work and doesn’t get paid, etc. And then at the end of the segment the news reader said, “And in case you think this helps the economy …” Then she described a study by some accounting firm explaining how it takes X amount of GDP out of the economy.
