You Know Their Names

The targets of those Chinese hackers who hacked into Gmail accounts of US government officials were well-known public figures. That according to a systems administrator who examined the innards of one of the compromised computers.

Bachmann Running for President

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) still hasn’t “officially” had her presidential campaign announcement which she says she’ll do later this month. But her staff has announced that she will participate in the New Hampshire GOP primary presidential debate on June 13th.

In my mind, once you’re in the presidential debate, you’re running.

Shocking Weiner Video Development!

This is being played … well, a bit differently by some other news orgs: Stressed Weiner staff calls 9-1-1 on reporter!

But take a look at the actual video (after the jump).

New York City reporter Marcia Kramer goes down to Weiner’s Capitol office, starts harassing interns and insisting that the congressman is refusing to speak to the media. Weiner’s press secretary David Arnold finally comes out and gives Kramer a look for the ages (at about :57 seconds in) when he hears that claim since, as Arnold points out, Weiner did something like 100 hours of press interviews yesterday. Kramer actually appears to have just lied about this since not only did Weiner talk to just about everyone yesterday, he also talked to several New York City reporters.

After Kramer leaves Weiner’s office some Capitol Police show up and ask her for some identification. Kramer claims Weiner’s office called the Capitol Police; but that’s not clear from the video. One of the police officers explains to Kramer that if she walks into the congressman’s office again and refuses to leave she can be arrested. Which, by Kramer’s read, is apparently another outrage.

From what I can tell the headline for this video is actually: Pushy NYC reporter makes it down to DC a day late and tries to get a story by flipping out on interns; local DC pubs fall for the flim flam.

Video after the jump. Let me know what you think. Read More
