From one perspective the Iowa Straw Poll is the classic pre-election beauty contest. It has no official significance. It doesn’t decide delegates. But it’s not something you want to miss if you have serious plans to contest the Iowa Caucuses. So it’s a key tell that Romney will opt not to seriously compete in Iowa.

In today’s episode Trump manages in 4:16 to critique the Ryan Plan (a “death wish” for Republicans), indict the Republican party, explain why the Republicans were being so crazy that he had to give in to NBC’s pleas and renew for another season of Celebrity Apprentice and then hint that he may run again as an independent.

The Jindal Administration has complied with a state Senate committee and turned over a copy of the secret report prepared by an outside firm on selling off the state employee insurance fund.
