Really must see pics from tonight outside the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village as the New York State senate voted on the marriage equality bill. Look.
Justice David Prosser, the one who just won that heated Supreme Court race in Wisconsin, is now being accused of getting into a physical altercation with another justice over the recent decision to reinstate the Gov. Walker’s anti-collective bargaining bill. Allegedly, during the incident he ended up with both hands around the neck of Justice Ann Walsh Bradley.
Both Prosser and Bradley have declined to comment on the alleged incident.
The latest alleged incident involving Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser can’t be viewed in isolation. Last year, Prosser exploded at Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson in a closed door meeting, calling her a “bitch” and threatening to “destroy” her.
That incident came to light during Prosser’s re-election campaign earlier this year. Prosser admitted to using the word “bitch,” but said it was justified. “I probably overreacted, but I think it was entirely warranted,” he said in March.
Why did Prosser think it was warranted? “They (Abrahamson and Justice Ann Walsh Bradley) are masters at deliberately goading people into perhaps incautious statements. This is bullying and abuse of very, very long standing,” Prosser claimed.
That’s the same Ann Walsh Bradley with whom Prosser allegedly got in a new argument last week, in her chambers, where his hands ended up around her neck, in the presence of other justices, in the midst of their deliberations over the legality of Gov. Scott Walker’s union-busting bill. Presumably because she was bullying and abusing him again.
Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Ann Walsh Bradley is now publicly accusing her fellow justice, David Prosser, of putting her in a “chokehold” in her chambers in the presence of other justices during heated discussions over the controversial state law that limited the collective bargaining rights of state workers.
Bradley’s accusation came after a local news report yesterday first revealed details of the incident, which allegedly happened two weeks ago. Neither Bradley, a liberal jurist, nor Prosser, a conservative, would comment for the original story. Prosser has also now issued a statement denying the allegation.
I’ve seen a lot in almost fifteen years of covering the news. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like a male Justice of a state Supreme Court accused of physically assaulting a female Justice. Justice Ann Walsh Bradley is now publicly charging Prosser with “Put(ting) his hands around my neck in anger in a chokehold.” Read More
