We’d known for a while that Joe the Plumber had ditched John McCain as his presidential favorite. He tells Rachel Slajda that for 2012 he’s getting behind Herman Cain, Georgia talk radio host and former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza.
There are a few data points I wanted to flag for your attention — too few to say there’s any trend, but some signs that public attitudes about the economy are shifting and that those numbers are helping the Dems.

Zack Roth has the story from there.
National Democrats are hoping that Arizona’s egregious new immigration law will gin up support for Democratic candidates around the country and solidify already strong Hispanic support for the Dems. Arizona’s Democratic gubernatorial candidate calls the law a “tragic mistake.” But we’ve made repeated calls to Goddard and his campaign manager to try to find out whether he’d try to repeal the law if elected. But we haven’t gotten any reply.
