Its almost become a

It’s almost become a parlor game among conservatives. Pick the best scapegoat for President Bush’s Iraq catastrophe. In the Weekly Standard, here’s ‘theologian’ Michael Novak’s entry. The press lost Iraq.

Or as Novak puts it, “What we have discovered in Iraq is the weakest link in the ability of the United States to sustain military operations overseas. That link is the U.S. media. They are Islamists’ best friends.”

It’s a fascinating narrative they’re developing. President Bush can handle and generally kick the ass of the Taliban, al Qaida, Saddam, the Iranians mullahs and everybody else around the globe single-handedly without any help from anyone.

Just as long as someone can protect him from the base of the Democratic party and MSM news editors.

Maybe readers can help

Maybe readers can help us help the folks at Powerline? From last night: “I may be missing someone, but the only high-profile administration offical I can think of who has faced criminal charges or had to resign in the face of scandal is Scooter Libby, who worked for the Vice President and who is not accused of corruption.”

Maybe a few someones? Send in your indicted/resigned Bush administration officials.

Late Update
: Wow, the party’s just starting here. As examples pour in, we have a deal with a series of category questions. Like for instance, appointees so corrupt President Bush couldn’t get them through the Republican Senate. Let’s call that the Bernie Kerik question. Or in another category, should there be a subgrouping for White House officials arrested for bizarre instances of personal misconduct or deviant behavior? We’ll call that the Claude Allen question. Once you deal with those questions you can get to more garden variety corruption and malfeasance like the dudes who get arrested at their house a couple days after resigning their White House job.

Weve put together our

We’ve put together our first draft of Bush administration officials who’ve either been indicted or had to resign under an ethical cloud. But there are so many more. Even I can see that our list doesn’t include Larry Franklin, who’s now doing hard time for his role in the AIPAC spy case. Or what about for HHS Inspector General Janet Rehnquist who had to resign amidst multiple investigations? When the IG’s are scammers, you know it’s a dirty crew. Anyway, there are so many. And this is meant to be a community project. So take a look. If you find administration crooks and scofflaws we haven’t listed yet, drop us a line and let us know.
