Andrew Breitbart, personally in attendance at Rep. Anthony Weiner’s press conference, just took to the stage, grabbed the mic and held forth to the assembled media. This was before Weiner took the stage.
Our reporter on the scene, Eric Lach, says Breitbart claimed to feel “vindicated” after initial reports blamed him for the original photo that was tweeted from Wiener’s account and accused him of hacking Weiner’s twitter account.
The presser is taking place at a Sheraton in midtown Manhattan. Also not clear how Breitbart managed to take over the event.
Eric Lach emails:
[Breitbart] was on the side when a few reporters noticed him. Then suddenly swarmed. So then he strolls up to the podium. I don’t know if he got permission or what. Now just ended after someone in back yells “thank you” and he says thank you and gets off stage.
