Is national digital and broadcast media creating an undifferentiated, national polarized politics? TPM Reader PH checks in from Wyoming …
Josh, I am from Wyoming. I have many very conservative relatives there. Up until about 5 years ago, while they were very conservative, they were iconoclastic in that they didn’t buy a lot of the culture war stuff that defined the Southern Republicans. In fact, Wyoming was a pro-choice state a few years ago. I doubt it is now. The nationalization of the GOP agenda through their media means I now have birther, Solyndra, Obama’s “war on Christmas”, cross-waving conservative relatives.
That early state retail politics is dying is no surprise to those of us who saw Fox News and Rush flood our little backwaters a while back.
