Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) was on MSNBC this morning to talk about the national minimum wage, but one of the show’s panelists took the opportunity to turn the discussion to Oklahoma’s botched execution of an inmate earlier this week.

Coburn said he’d given the issue a lot of thought. Then he wobbled a little bit before saying that his opinion on the matter hadn’t been changed by the messy nature of the killing.

“It’s an unfortunate thing,” Coburn said, “but any time you’re doing something with a body, things can go wrong.”
