There’s a lot of fascinating material in this Times article about the gargantuan protests this weekend in Egypt. But I think the most riveting may be the way the reporters capture how caught off guard President Morsi and his advisors were by the scale of the demonstrations. They are neither clearly accommodating or fully defiant. But at least from his spokesman seem almost literally at a loss for words …. Read More

Now that the Senate’s passed an immigration bill, everyone wants to know what the House is going to do, and that’s fueling demand for the million or so theories, some more meritorious than others, about what happens next.
The most outside-the-box idea is that the House will ultimately pass the Senate bill because House Democrats will be able to force a vote on it.
