The gay part I’m totally down with. Still having a hard time accepting that the Rams play in St. Louis and the Cardinals don’t.
As I mentioned, my best friend is behind the Years of Living Dangerously series on climate change (and its impacts around the globe) that’s currently running Showtime. In light of the administration’s National Climate Assessment, they’ve decided to make the first four episodes available to the public for free this weekend only. So if you’re not a subscriber, carve out some time to see at least one of the episodes. They’re really worth your time.
After smoking crack, getting videoed smoking crack, having the different videos offered for sale, possibly connected to murders, extortion, Elmore Leonard style hunts for video tapes, taped booze binges and so much more, you think you’ve reached Peak Rob Ford.

Tonight the Toronto Star has a mind-boggling account of a night not long before the latest blow-up that sent Ford to rehab. Booze, racist tirades, DUIs, buying drugs from friends, beating up other friends, smoking weed, getting in a fight with his wife or her allegedly stealing his weed.
On the outs with mainstream pundits over “the Negro”, Cliven Bundy and his band of armed extremists are still hoping to spark a violent confrontation with the Feds that will go nationwide.
Here where I live, if you pull a gun on a law enforcement officer, things go down hill pretty fast. But out in Bundystan, as long as you’re a far right militia member and/or white supremacist, apparently it’s not a problem. At least until now. Apparently the FBI is starting to investigate the Bundy outlaws as part of “formal investigation into alleged death threats, intimidation and possible weapons violations.”
We wouldn’t have known anything about it if a reader hadn’t tipped us off that it happened. But in a congressional hearing this morning Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) left a Comcast executive basically speechless when he accused the company of conspiring to keep Glenn Beck off the airwaves in favor of Sharia Law in the form of Al Jazeera America. Watch.
Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) calls Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI) “al Qaeda’s best friend in Congress.”
Amash is a fairly doctrinaire libertarian. So not surprisingly he’s very anti-NSA, anti-surveillance for a Republican. May or may not be your cup of tea. But perfectly legitimate positions. Amash is also Arab-American (of Christian Syrian and Palestinian extraction.) So it’s a slur on a couple different counts.
Just so wrong on so many levels.
As I mentioned, we’re going to be doing a sign up drive for Prime soon. So in The Hive we’re discussing with Prime members what they like, don’t like, why they subscribed and resubscribed. This captures one thing I’m kind of proud of – part of a member’s comment from one of those discussions …
I had zero interest in the Hive before I signed up, just wasn’t all that interested and did not think I would have the time for it. It has become one of my favorite things about the site. It is astonishing how much better a discussion can be when the people participating are actually interested in the heart of a topic and have respect for differing opinions. We all know how fragile that is, having seen it first hand.
