Yet Another Reason It Ain’t Happening

Yet another reason the Christie thing ain’t happening. With the glow of reelection, endless media love and before the intra-party savaging has even begun, he tops all 2016 Republicans in the Northeast but in no other region in the country.

Opening Things Back Up

Several times since September I’ve mentioned the new publishing platform we’ve built at TPM. In tech-speak that’s a ‘CMS’, a content management system, though the way we’ve approached it is dramatically different from a traditional CMS. Lighter, more modular, more adaptable to changing editorial needs. It’s the culmination of about four years of planning, strategizing and finally coding what a system that is purpose built for a modern digital news operation, with all the emphasis on speed, adaptability and share-ability that implies.

Lara Logan’s Bogus “Correction”

I just watched the 60 Minutes “correction”/apology tonight and thought was pretty amazing for its brevity, lack of substance and general obfuscation. If you didn’t watch 60 Minutes tonight, it won’t take long. It only lasted 90s or so. And you can see it here.

Both Sides of Lou

In what was apparently his final interview, Lou Reed (a notoriously catenkerous, sometimes nasty interview subject) took an opportunity to f*&k with one last interviewer. But not just that, some screwing with the interview. But also some powerful moments. The health decline in the final month is also apparent. Video after the jump …

Same As It Ever Was (For Some)

As Josh Levy writes, for communities of color, mass surveillance is nothing new.
