Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has a new pair of TV ads for his re-election campaign in Nevada, focusing on the money and jobs he’s brought home to his state.
“A few months ago, I didn’t have a job. And now all that’s changed,” says a man working on a solar power project, which the ad’s text says was created by tax credits passed by Reid. “It was like a ton of bricks lifted off my shoulders.”
Take it as a sign that Reid that will be pitching his re-election bid to his home state’s voters in terms of the ongoing economic recovery — focusing on what’s going right, rather than the slow pace of job creation that has left many voters frustrated — and his ability as a long-time incumbent to bring home the bacon.
And this ad has a similar motif, focusing on a man working in geothermal project created by money that Reid brought to Nevada.
