Minnesota Independence Party gubernatorial nominee Tom Horner has a new TV ad up, positioning himself as the candidate of the reasonable middle — and likening the state under Democrats and Republicans to a severely wall-eyed man.
The ad, entitled “Eyeballs,” opens with a black-and-white extreme close-up on a man’s face, with a red eye and a blue eye pointed outward and away from each other. “For the past few years, the Republicans and the Democrats have only been looking one direction — too far to the right, or too far to the left. Most of us would agree that we need a governor with the vision to get Minnesota going in the right direction.”
The TPM Poll Average currently has Democratic nominee Mark Dayton leading Republican Tom Emmer and Horner 44.2%-33.6%-9.9%.
I’ll say this: Even if Horner doesn’t win the gubernatorial race, his ad-man has a future in the horror movie business.
