A convoy of military vehicles flying a “Trump” flag was caught on video driving through Louisville, Kentucky, on Sunday, TPM’s Esme Cribb reported. In the recording, four vehicles—the first flying a blue flag with “TRUMP” and “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” emblazoned in white—drive down Interstate 65, according to a report by the Courier-Journal.
Agree or Disagree?
Josh Marshall: “If your employee or subordinate does something behind your back that ends up embarrassing you or catching you off guard, that is a major breach. If you agree to do work for someone else and promise that someone else not to tell your boss, your boss is not going to be happy. Now, you may say there are plenty of more important things going on right now than a members of Congress getting insulted or having his feelings hurt. And you’d be right. But if there’s one thing members of Congress excel at it’s guarding their institutional and official privileges. How does Goodlatte trust these staffers again knowing they went behind his back?“

“I think it’s a shame that people were inconvenienced, obviously. But at the end of the day, we’re talking about a couple hours. I’m sorry that some folks may have had to wait a little while.”
– White House press secretary Sean Spicer dismissed criticism of President Donald Trump’s executive order temporarily barring visitors from seven predominantly Muslim countries on Monday, saying that those affected were just “inconvenienced a little.”
BUZZING: Today in the Hive
From a TPM Prime member: “Marching makes you feel better, but we’re not sure it does anything, as a march. However, as an organizational and resistance networking event the gatherings were fruitful. Don’t march, organize. Or, organize at marches if you go and keep organizing. The donations, and organization list looks good. In the organizing, start looking for what you have in common with other voters. The right has been fantastic at finding the differences and magnifying them. To counter that you need to find the similarities. The economy is usually a big one, health care, jobs, child care, elder care. More people share these worries than care about .. say trans in the bathroom. Also, in the strong, religious-based anti-abortion camp, I’m seeing more people questioning if it is a good idea to be a one-issue voter on that issue. You can’t tell someone to minimize their religious views. You can, though, convince them that government needs to perform some other tasks for them on a higher priority. There seems to be a new openness to that message right now.”
