After a failed protest outside the NFL headquarters and stunted cultural critiques from the likes of Rudy Giuliani, talks of Beyoncé’s Super Bowl performance has largely stalled—until the Nation of Islam got involved.

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan announced that the group’s security detail, the Fruit of Islam, will provide security at future Beyoncé performances if the men in blue won’t step up. TPM’s Caitlin Cruz says the next move is on the police unions, whose reactions have been mixed at best.
