Donald Trump on Wednesday morning refused to say whether he would pick former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin as his running mate, less than a day after she formally endorsed his presidential campaign.

When Savannah Guthrie, host of NBC’s “Today,” asked the Republican presidential candidate if he would consider Palin as his running mate, he said he didn’t think it was something Palin would want to do.

“I haven’t discussed anything with her about what she’d do, but she’s somebody I really like and I respect, and certainly she could play a position if she wanted to,” Trump eventually replied.

When pressed, Trump wouldn’t say if he would rule her out as a potential vice president.

“That question’s always asked of me, ‘Who do you have in mind?'” he told Guthrie. “I don’t even think about VP right now. I just want to win.”

Later Wednesday, Palin didn’t show for a Trump rally she was expected to attend in Norwalk, Iowa. A spokesperson for Trump’s campaign didn’t immediately return TPM’s request for comment.
