Josh Marshall: The New York Times mistakenly reported that the San Bernardino shooters posted openly about waging jihad on their social media accounts, though the FBI insists they only communicated about it in private online messages. According to Marshall, the distinction is a “big deal” and speaks to “an institutional insensitivity to getting really specific and granular.”

From a TPM Prime member: “The best we can hope for is that there will be no market for this oil. The tax credits for alternatives were extended, and there was some progress in Paris which will lead to more investment in alternatives, so perhaps it will be a moot point, just like Shell’s plans for the arctic appear to be so far. I think Obama, and those of us who care, win in this tradeoff. But there is nothing wrong with screaming and yelling about it anyway.”
