Amid President Obama’s impassioned inaugural address, calling for equal rights for all and promising to combat climate change, the nation’s cable news networks carried on with coverage of the crowd size and who designed Michelle Obama’s outfit.
“So you’ve just fucking given up, is that what you’re telling us?” Jon Stewart said Tuesday of CNN’s coverage.
Stewart was also struck by how different “actual Barack Obama is from the bizarre-o, boogie man, empty-chair Obama, who lives only in the minds of his opponents.” Enter Fox News, whose commentators have covered the President in recent months as if he has launched an all out assault on Christian ideals and intends to take Americans’ guns.
