A man was shot dead after a standoff with police near a courthouse in Florida on Friday, News 13 reports.

The man, who remains unidentified, was spotted “wandering outside the courthouse with a handgun and a bag” on Friday morning, according to News 13.

Brevard County Courthouse was placed on lockdown, along with two area schools. The incident occurred during jury deliberations for the shooting of a Brevard County deputy two years ago, per News 13.
