A U.S. health official expressed serious concerns about the troubled website HealthCare.gov months before its Oct. 1 launch, according to documents obtained by Reuters.
Reuters reported Friday on two series of emails — provided to the news outlet by Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce Committee — sent in July between officials at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
In one email sent July 16, HealthCare.gov project manager Henry Chao raised concerns about software problems associated with the website.
“I just need to feel more confident they are not going to crash the plane at take-off,” Chao wrote.
