Former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL) could be out of prison by Dec. 31, 2015.
The Chicago Tribune reported on Friday that Jackson’s projected release date, which has been posted on the Bureau of Prisons website, assumes that Jackson receives the full reduction for good behavior. Federal prisons who behave are eligible to reduce their sentences by 54 days a year.
“If he does not maintain clear conduct, some of his ‘good time’ could be disallowed,” Chris Burke, a spokesman for the bureau, told the newspaper.
Jackson entered prison on Tuesday, following a mix-up on Monday at the Butner Federal Correctional Complex in Butner, N.C., where Jackson was turned away following a paperwork issue.
