Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Friday got a rise out of the crowd at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C. at Vice President Joe Biden’s expense.
Cruz ran down a list of what he said were the Obama administration’s attacks on the Constitution, taking a shot at Biden when he touched on the vice president’s gun control efforts.
“We’ve got the Second Amendment, which no administration in the history of this country has ever come after guns like this administration,” Cruz said.
“Now, Vice President Joe Biden — you know the nice thing, you don’t need a punch line,” he said to laughter from the audience. “You just say his name and people laugh.”
“He said if anyone is attacking your home, just go outside with a double-barreled shotgun and fire both barrels in the air,” Cruz said. “Which is very good advice, if it so happens you’re being attacked by a flock of geese.”
