Attorney General Eric Holder issued a statement following Monday’s shooting at Washington Navy Yard thanking federal law enforcement officials for their response to the incident.
“The thoughts and prayers of everyone at the Department of Justice are with the victims of this heinous attack, and their families,” he said. “We also extend our sincerest gratitude to the local and federal law enforcement agents in our nation’s capital who bravely responded to the scene and prevented this tragedy from claiming even more lives.”
“From my time as U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, I understand the importance of seamless cooperation at every level of government in investigations like this one,” he continued. “The full resources of the Department of Justice will continue to be made available to support our law enforcement partners as our nation responds to this latest mass shooting.”
