“We are confronting yet another mass shooting, and today it happened in a military installation in our nation’s capital,” he said. “We will do everything in our power to make sure whoever carried out this cowardly act will be held responsible.”
He said “we still don’t know all the facts” and promised a thorough investigation.
The president made his remarks at the top of a scheduled economic speech on the 5-year anniversary of the 2008 financial crisis. He went ahead with his planned remarks after speaking about the D.C. shooting.
