Sen. John McCain said Sunday the controversial Rolling Stone cover that featured a photo of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was ‘stupid’ and ‘inappropriate.’
The cover received backlash for what critics called its celebrity treatment of Tsarnaev in the photo. Many companies, including CVS, said they would be pulling the magazine from their shelves.
“I thought it was glorifying an individual that represented a great threat,” McCain said on CNN’s ‘State of the Union’ Sunday.
