Navy Academy Football Players To Face Charges In Connection To 2012 Alleged Rape

Officials at the U.S. Naval Academy announced Monday that several of the school’s football players will soon face charges in connection to the alleged 2012 rape of a female midshipman at an off-campus party, according to The Washington Post.

The specific charges and the names of the accused midshipmen were not released.

News of the rape allegations surfaced at the same time Congress is debating potential changes to the way the military prosecutes sexual assault cases.
