A plurality of New York City voters believe Rudy Giuliani was the Big Apple’s best mayor in the last 50 years, according to a poll released Thursday from Quinnipiac University.
Thirty-one percent of voters said Giuliani, whose national profile grew after 9/11, did the best job as mayor, slightly more than the 25 percent who identified the late Ed Koch as the top city leader and the 24 percent who identified current Mayor Michael Bloomberg as the best.
David Dinkins, Abe Beame and John Lindsay all failed to eclipse 10 percent in the poll. Beame and Lindsay are both deceased.
