Police Say They Found Steroids In Pistorius’ Room, Neighbor Heard Screaming

Oscar Pistorius, charged with premeditated murder of Reeva Steenkamp appears in court in Pretoria, South Africa for his bail hearing on February 20, 2013.

A detective on Wednesday said police discovered two boxes of testosterone and needles in the bedroom of South African Olympian Oscar Pistorius and neighbor reported hearing gun shots and screaming from the double-amputee’s home the night his girlfriend was shot dead, the Associated Press and CBS News reported Wednesday.

The details were announced at the magistrate’s court in Pretoria, South Africa during a bail hearing for Pistorius, who has been charged with premeditated murder of Reeva Steenkamp. The defense argued that the substance found in Pistorius’ bedroom was a legal herbal remedy and claimed that the neighbor lives 600 yards away and “seemed to have reported hearing a total number of gunshots that did not line up with forensic evidence from the scene,” according to the AP.
