Pew Poll: Public Divided Over Meaning Of Newtown Shooting

A survey released Monday found that the public is divided over the meaning of Friday’s shooting in Newtown, Conn. Forty-seven percent of respondents said the shooting reflects broader societal problems in the U.S. and 44 percent said it was the act of a troubled individual, according to the Pew Research Center.

An ABC News/Washington Post poll released Monday found that more than half of responds said the shooting reflects broader societal problems.
