The headquarters of the Miami-Dade Elections Department has reopened after it shut down earlier this afternoon when staffers were overwhelmed by the number of voters seeking to request and cast absentee ballots, the Miami-Herald reports. Officials said they will allow any voters in line at their Doral, Florida headquarters building at 5 p.m. to cast an absentee ballot. The department now has a second ballot printer and more staffers on hand to deal with the crowd.
