New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) has a 4-point lead in a possible matchup with Newark Mayor Cory Booker (D) for the state’s governorship in 2013. Christie gets 46 percent to Booker’s 42 percent.
“New Jersey Gov. Christopher Christie’s job-approval edges up a couple of points, but short of his all-time high. More than half of the state’s registered voters think he’s earned a second term,” said Maurice Carroll, director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute in a statement. “A sneak peak at the 2013 election for governor shows Newark Mayor Cory Booker could give Gov. Christie a run for his money, if the mayor decides to run.”
Christine maintains an edge in the limited polling on the possible contest.
