Major donors to Mitt Romney’s campaign begin a three-day retreat at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel in New York Monday, where they will mingle with campaign strategists and surrogates and Ann Romney and Paul Ryan will make appearances, the Washington Post reports.
From the Post:
The donors will be feted at a gala reception and dinner Monday night at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, where a handful of Republican stars are expected to speak, including vice-presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (Wis.), Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus and former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, as well as real estate mogul and reality television star Donald Trump.
According to the Post, the donors in attendance have given at least $50,000 — the required amount to attend the “Fall Retreat” — and many of them have raised thousands more from friends. Mitt Romney canceled plans to attend in order to focus on preparing for the second debate Tuesday night. The Post has more details.
