A poll released Sunday shows Democratic candidate Patrick Murphy narrowly leading Rep. Allen West (R-FL), a national tea party favorite.
Murphy is ahead 49 percent to 45 percent, according to Republican pollster Kimball Political Consulting. The survey of 408 likely voters was conducted Sept. 28, and has a 4.8 percent margin of error.
The poll also shows President Obama leading Mitt Romney in the district, 52 percent to 47 percent. Obama previously carried the district in 2008, with 51 percent of the vote.
