Family Research Council President Tony Perkins opened the seventh annual Values Voter Summit Friday with a call for a focus on “traditional values” in the final stretch to November.

The themes for this year’s social conservative conference are “limit government, reduce spending, champion tradional values and protect America.”

“It’s time to quit apologizing for being America!” Perkins said.

The first day of the 2012 VVS will include an address by Paul Ryan.
