Counterterrorism Adviser Talks Terrorism One Year After Bin Laden Death

White House Counterterrorism adviser John Brennan weighed in on progress against al Qaeda since the raid that killed Osama bin Laden almost a year ago on Fox News Sunday.

Brennan said al Qaeda has been significantly weakened over the past decade, and “in particular as we’ve taken off the battle field the founding leader.” Brennan also focused on activity going in Yemen. On the subject of drones, Brennan defended the use of drones in places like Yemen to take out al Qaeda operatives, emphasizing the U.S. is using them with the cooperation of the Yemeni government.
