Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI) has a new TV ad, asking the state’s voters to oppose the recall against him.
Technically speaking, Wisconsin recalls do not feature any direct up-or-down vote on the incumbent, but instead take the form of a special election in which the incumbent and challengers run against each other. (There is currently a Democratic primary race.)
However, Walker’s ad clearly seeks to tap into a latent anti-recall bias among some swing voters, by extolling his record and asking the public: “Help me oppose the recall, and let’s use the foundation we’ve built to keep moving Wisconsin forward.”
