Alamo, Texas city officials stated on Tuesday that the White House had not informed them of President Donald Trump’s trip to the city in advance.

“Information is being circulated that appears to indicate that President Trump will be making his way to the City of Alamo during his visit to the Rio Grande Valley,” City Manager Robert Salinas said in a press release. “The City of Alamo’s City Commission and City Administration has NOT been officially contacted regarding this visit and therefore, have NO DETAILS regarding his itinerary.”

Salinas confirmed the lack of communication from the White House to NBC News, saying he learned of the visit from a local newspaper report.

Against the backdrop of the pro-Trump insurrection the President incited last week, Salinas pleaded in the press release for people to refrain from any potential violence Trump’s visit might cause.

“Regarding any potential protests or support for the President, we ask that all demonstrations are peaceful and respectful towards our law enforcement personnel and our surrounding communities,” he said.

The White House did not respond to TPM’s request for comment.

  5. It was all over the news. The City Republicons were probably all for the visit until it got real when businesses started announcing that they would stop funding collaborator Republicons.

Repeat and remember: ALL Republicons lie ALL the time.
