Attorney General Bill Barr is considering heading for the hills after he upset President Donald Trump by admitting that there has not been evidence that the election, which Trump lost decisively, was plagued by mass voter fraud.
The New York Times reported that Barr has been weighing whether to depart before Trump leaves office in January, though it’s unknown if he’s thinking of doing so because of the President’s anger toward him.
Nothing has been finalized, according to the Times. CNN later confirmed the Times’ reporting.
Barr has been in the dog house ever since he told the Associated Press last Tuesday that “we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election.”
Several hours after the interview, the attorney general reportedly had a “contentious” meeting with Trump, who has been routinely lying about the election by claiming voter fraud had led to President-elect Joe Biden’s victory.
The Washington Post and NBC News reported that the President is weighing whether to fire Barr.
IMO an attempt by Barr to minimize the size of the target on his ass. Although in his case, the target will be hard to miss.
