Stephen Colbert realized last night that it was going to be tough to find ways to “derail” the Elena Kagan nomination, so he brought out his “anti-Kagan research straws,” saying “and I will attempt to grasp at them.”
The first straw? At 50 years old, Kagan is “just a kid. And she’s going to be distracting all of the other Justices with her squealing over Justin Bieber.”
Colbert also questioned Kagan’s judicial experience, claiming that her only experience as a judge was when she dressed up as one in high school. “Hey,” he said. “If dressing up in a school play qualifies her to be a judge, then I’m qualified to be a singing nun.”
