California Gubernatorial candidate Douglas Hughes (R) is running on a platform of expelling all convicted pedophiles from his state.

Don’t worry though, Hughes has a plan for where they’ll go: Santa Rosa Island, or as he calls it, “Pedophile Island.”

Hughes’ website touts his campaign platform as “pedophile removal stops child rape,” and pledges that if elected he will “remove all pedophiles from the State of California.”

Currently, our government places pedophiles in prison. After short sentences, they are released back into our neighborhoods to rape our children. How mentally ill can one government be? Why should Californians tolerate this practice?

Hughes says convicted pedophiles would either be forced to leave the state, remain in prison for life, or relocate to Santa Rosa Island. The plan involves a self-sustained farming and ranching community that provides a “controlled environment that promotes abstaining from sexual deviancy.”

And how does one create such a community? Hughes describes how a “lead team” of “police, fire personnel, judges, fish and game agents, forest rangers, ranchers, farmers, building contractors, surveyors, and the like to establish the “Island” community.” All of them will presumably be convicted sex offenders.

Once the “lead team” sets up the community’s foundations, the rest of California’s convicted pedophiles can choose to relocate to the island. Once they do they can never leave.

Says Hughes: “I don’t want them on California’s mainland! And Moms and Dads don’t want them here either!”

Sounds like someone’s been reading their Utopia!
