Via ThinkProgress: Yesterday, after Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle met with Senate Republicans for the first time, Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-GA) commented to Fox News on her performance.

“She did a good job. She’s an articulate lady,” Isakson said. “This was an introduction. It wasn’t the kind of speech you would give to the unwashed back home. She was talking to her colleagues.”

Angle, a Tea Party favorite, won the Republican primary and will challenge Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for his seat in November.

After meeting with the GOP senators, Angle managed to dodge D.C. reporters waiting outside the closed-press lunch. NRSC Chair John Cornyn later said it would be a few weeks before Angle is ready to face the press at large.

A spokesman for Isakson did not immediately return a call for comment.
