Rep. Sue Myrick (R-NC) thinks that agents of the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah are posing as illegal immigrants — “going to Venezuela, learning Spanish, and then coming up through Mexico with fake documents trying to cross the border.”

As we’ve reported, Myrick believes that Hezbollah “is partnering with Mexican drug cartels in the U.S. borderlands and may be planning ‘Israel-like car bombings of Mexican/USA border personnel or National Guard units.'”

On Fox News today, she expanded on this theory:

It really bothers me because here we are with a porous border, not really paying attention to who is coming over, what’s happening with Iran and Hugo Chavez and Venezuela. We know that there are people going to Venezuela learning Spanish and then coming up through Mexico with fake documents trying to cross the border. If they’re stopped they say, “Well, I’m Mexican or Spanish.”

Myrick added that “border agent who really knows the difference in their language can tell that they aren’t Mexican. And so it’s very difficult if the agents aren’t really trained in linguistics to know that and they get across.”

Host Brian Kilmeade was convinced: “Instead of talking about Mexicans coming here for a better life, we’re talking about Hezbollah coming here to infiltrate our borders and attack the country. That would change the entire dialogue when it comes to illegal immigration.”

Watch:

Myrick also recently explained how the recurrence of “Farsi tattoos” among prison inmates confirms that “these people coming across our border are not just coming from Mexico and other countries that are looking for work.” Watch, via ThinkProgress:

Myrick is also known for trying to expose Muslim intern spies on Capitol Hill.
