The new Mason-Dixon poll of the Nevada Senate race shows Republican nominee Sharron Angle retaking the lead, albeit a very narrow one, against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
The numbers, including leaners: Angle 48%, Reid 46%. The survey of likely voters has a ±4% margin of error. In the previous Mason-Dixon poll from three weeks ago, Reid and Angle were tied at 43%-43%.
“I wouldn’t call it momentum so much as what you would expect to happen as undecided voters start to drift a little bit toward the nonincumbent,” Mason-Dixon pollster Brad Coker told the Las Vegas Review-Journal, which commissioned the poll. “At the end of the day, if Nevada voters really want to get rid of Reid, they’ll vote for just about anybody. And I’ve always said this race is a referendum on Reid.”
The TPM Poll Average gives Angle an edge of 47.9%-47.4% — the first time in many weeks that she has been ahead in this measurement.
