Call the police! Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is a terrorist, according to Stephen Colbert.
On his show Tuesday night, Colbert highlighted Paul’s suggestion that people should be deported or imprisoned simply for “attending speeches” by someone advocating the overthrow of the government.
“That is perfectly consistent with Rand Paul’s libertarian constitutional ideals,” Colbert said. “The bill of Rights guarantees freedom of speech, not freedom of listen.”
But as Colbert pointed out, Paul proudly attended a gun firing event during while on the campaign trail last year, an event at which a band called for a second American revolution, and insinuated that President Obama should be assassinated.
“So if you see this dangerous fugitive, please call the authorites,” Colbert said, flashing a picture of Paul. “But first put in some ear plugs, because if you hear anything he says, Rand Paul says we have to arrest you too.”
