Prosecutors in New Jersey say they are investigating whether a fatal shooting of a Pakistani woman walking with her three-year old son and husband was racially motivated, according to WABC News.

Nasish Noorani, 27, was gunned down Tuesday night in Boonton, NJ, while out walking with her husband and son at around 11:30pm after a Ramadan Iftar dinner with family. According to WABC News, Kashif Pervaiz, 26, her husband, is currently recovering from gunshot wounds. The child was not hurt.

Police are reportedly looking for three suspects, and witnesses say they heard five shots at the time of the shooting.

Prosecutors say that the shooting “clearly appears to be target specific,” and that they are looking into whether it was racially motivated. The couple, both Pakistani-American, were in Boonton to visit relatives.
