Rudy Giuliani’s long-running effort to keep a toehold in the presidential conversation is officially over: the former New York mayor says he’s out for 2012.
“If it’s too late for Chris Christie, it’s too late for me,” he said at a Long Island Association event on Tuesday, according to Politico.
The news isn’t exactly a shock: Giuliani hadn’t done much to lay the groundwork for a campaign and had been pretty frank with reporters in acknowledging his moderate social views were probably a disqualifier.
