Putting less-than-dignified end on a undignified night, Mitt Romney’s new Secret Service protection was forced to step in Tuesday when a member of the audience at his Colorado primary night speech apparently tried to glitter-bomb him.
As Romney shook hands in a Denver crowd after giving a speech where he had to congratulate Rick Santorum on his wins in Missouri and Minnesota, a splash of blue glitter sprayed out from the crowd. Bodyguards surrounding Romney quickly pulled Romney back and the candidate went back to working the rope line.
It was the latest in a series of glitter-tossings that have caught most of the Republican candidates this year, starting with Newt Gingrich last year and including Rick Santorum, Michele Bachmann and Romney just days before he got the Secret Service detail that will stay with him for the duration of the campaign.
